Pastor James Mansfield was born in England. At the age of 4, his parents relocated his family to Alberta, Canada. He grew up in a non-Christian home never attending church. At the age of 26, he heard the gospel for the very first time. A man on his job site explained that Christ had paid for his sin on the cross. James accepted Jesus Christ as his Saviour. Immediately things began to change as he began yielding areas of his life to the Holy Spirit. He followed the Lord in baptism and quickly got involved in many facets of his new church. Within a few weeks, James knew God wanted him to be in full-time Christian work as a pastor.
He moved to America for Bible college where he met his wife, Andrea. James graduated with his Bachelor of Science and Master of Ministry degrees from two separate Bible colleges. He felt the call of the Lord to plant a new church in his home country of England. He traveled with his wife and four children across America and Canada raising support to move to England.
After 2 ½ years of full-time travels, James moved his family and planted the Skelmersdale Baptist Church located just outside of Liverpool, England. For 5 ½ years, he and his family served the Lord in England. Upon following the presidential elections and decline of America, the Lord began burdening James’ heart for church planting in America. In the beginning of 2016, he led his church in England in calling a new pastor and began plans to make the move with his wife and 7 sons to Texas where God had led him.
He became the pastor of Victory Baptist Church in Commerce, Texas in June of 2016 and began the task of reopening the church that had closed 5 years before due to the former pastor’s death. The church had a grand re-opening service on October 23, 2016. James and his family are excited about what God is doing in their lives and the opportunity to serve Him in this new endeavor.
